Crossfade I showcases collaborative encounters between Tapage and Espoir. The release is divided in three parts: Both Tapage and Espoir have recorded solo albums, revealing the individual artistic attitudes, while the third album is the product of collaboration, searching for the sum that is greater than the parts.

Tijs Ham (Tapage) has been making experimental electronic music for nearly two decades. Throughout these years his sound has touched upon a wide spectrum of influences ranging from raw industrial to hypnotic ambiences. In recent years his focus has turned towards live electronics using chaotic sound processes. Tapage designs and builds his own instruments, developing software and soldering circuits to shape intricate and expressive performances. He is currently a PhD Candidate in Artistic Research at the Grieg Academy in Bergen, Norway.

Roald van Dillewijn (Espoir) is a sound artist, creative coder, designer and lecturer from the Netherlands. Always aiming to work on a new view of designing sounds and let them interact in a fascinating way. The tools to create sounds are found in creative software design and hacking and designing electronic instruments. The combination of hard and software leads to powerful tools for composition, live performance, interactive installation and sound design for several disciplines.
